We recently upgraded to Hosted CRM2013, a user is attempting to close an opportunity and gets the error code "state code or status code invalid" It wont let me download the log file to see where the error is occuring.

Windows 8 CRM app - error message 0x8005f20e
Hi,
I have been jumping through a few hoops to get the Dynamics CRM app running.
Firstly, had to work around the issue where the app caches credentials. As I am testing, I switched servers but the application didn't allow me to re-enter credentials. Had to uninstall, empty Win App store cache (and emptied IE10 App cache as well) and re-install to get that working (Don't select the 'remember by credentials';)
Secondly, there is a bug with certain security roles that, if they don't have a modified date, will cause an error. Figured that one out and assigned a role to the user that has a modified date and the role has the permissions set to use tablet apps.
Finally, the next hoop is the error message "error_message_0x8005f20e". Exact wording is "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again, or restart the app." Have done that a number of times but still won't let me in.
Any help on this one?
Error installing CRM 2013
I am getting the following error while installing CRM 2013 onto a Windows 2012 server (web) connected to another windows 2012 server (database - sql server 2012).

BIDS Custom Reporting - Combining two datasets in to one report

I was hoping someone someone might be able to provide some guidance. I am attempting to get to grips with SSRS reporting for Dynamics CRM 2011 online, but have already elapsed my limited knowledge.
Situation:
I started by building a report that shows a break down of all orders a client has, the order products in each order and the value of these products.

This I can do no problem
However I want to add another level of detail to this report. My employer has a business model where customers subscribe to particular products in an order. I would like to be show these in the report like so:

It is at this stage I am getting confused......
1) If I try and return all the data I would require in a single FetchXML query, I get multiple duplicate rows that then distort the true value of the order (a duplicate of each order product for every subscription attached to the order).
2) If I have two FetchXML datasets, I do not know how I would combine them to replicate the structure above. The unique identifier would be a Concatenation of Order Name and Product, but I don't know if this helps me.
Can anyone provide some guidance about what would be best practice here:
- Is such a report easily possible? (It doesn't seem a particularly uncommon request)
- Should I be trying to work with one or two datasets?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated because, at the moment, I am really just going round in circles.

How to edit direct email before it is sent to many Leads?
Hi, I am using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 (online version).
I need to be able to edit a direct mail to my Leads before it is sent, however when I select a template and press OK it just sends it without letting me check whether it is right or letting me tweak content.
It was not clear that pressing OK was going to send the direct email rather than just moving on to the next screen.
Help greatly appreciated!
Can't import data on CRM Online Fall '13 status reason always Submitted
I try to import data to CRM Online Fall '13. on first day, it's work correct. But from second day, I unable import data any more, When I go to Data Management > Import. Every my imports are in Submitted status for several days.
CRM 2013 Campaign Activity Mail-Merge tracking problem

I use CRM 2013 on-premises and Office 2013. I create marketing campaign with an Email Mail-Merge campaign activity from Outlook. When I distribute campaign activity, correctly, Word is launched. I then go through all the steps in Word to edit a document (it is merged correctly). When the last step "Send emails.." is done, I do not get a prompt to track/create activities in CRM. That dialog simply does not appear. So, no distributed activities are created for that campaign. CRM-Outlook configuration wizard on a local machine is synchronised with a correct CRM organisation. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

CRM 2013 - Can't add attachment to Email via Mail Merge Campaign Activity
I have recently been demoing the new version of CRM to a potential customer, who is particularily interested in the Campaign module. They have a need to go to a number of suppliers and ask for a quote, with a uniform list of products. This would be perfect for an Email via Mail Merge Campaign Activity (so the message is personalised for each) with the same spreadsheet attached to each. However I have noticed a difference between how CRM 2013 and CRM 2011 handles these types of activities. In CRM 2011, you would follow this chain of events.
1. Create a new Campaign Activity in the Campaign
2. Set the Channel to “Email via Mail Merge”
3. Select the Marketing list
4. Distribute the Campaign activity, selecting the template or electing to create a new template
5. If the latter, Word would load, allowing you to create an email, including merge fields from CRM.
6. When finalised, a screen would pop up allowing you to elect whether to create Activities for each merged email, and at that point you could add an attachment to each of the emails also.
7. At this point the emails would send.
It now appears that in CRM 2013, Step 6 does not occur. It instead sends the emails straight away, without giving the opportunity to select an attachment. Is this a behaviour which can be changed? This feature is crucial for my potential customer so I would like to verify whether this is possible.

Dynamics CRM for Outlook error

I have one user who always receives an error message when tracking e-mails:
"The logged-on user does not have the appropriate security permissions to view these records or perform the specific action."
This only occurs when trying to track the e-mail before sending it. Once the e-mail has been sent, they can go in to the e-mail and track it without issue.
We are using Dynamics CRM 4.0 update rollup 21.
Any ideas please?

CRM 2011 + Office 2013 - problem creating mail merge activities
I'm trying to create a email using the mail merge functionality.
After the last dialog, where you can select if you want to create activities in CRM, and add attachments I'm prompted with an error message saying:
E-mail cannot be sent because the specified sender does not have an e-mail address. Add an e-mail address to the sender and then try again. Do you want to send the e-mail? If you click Yes, the e-mail will be sent out, but no corresponding activity will be created in Micrososft Dynamics CRM.
After clicking Yes i get something like this:
Activites was successfully created in Dynamics CRM.
The email is sent, but no activities are created.
In the trace logs I get the followng error message:
The sender does not have an email address on the party record.
Reproduced on:
Win 7 + Office 2013 + CRM 2011 Online, Client is RU15v2 (Office 365)
Win8 + Office 2013 (64-bit) + CRM 2011 OnPremise, Client is RU15v2 (Domain user as CRM user)
So it seems to be a Office 2013 problem, as I cannot reproduce it on systems where Office 2010 is installed.. I've verified that the sender has an email address set in the user account in CRM. Has anybody experience this, or is it by design...?
Just as a sidenote:
We are in the process of moving to CRM 2013 Online (and customers are being upgraded...) so this problem would probably go away, but then I'm expecting to hit this "minor" issue: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/p/115412/238676.aspx#238676
CRM Fall 2013 Require Security Permissions for Custom Security Roles
Morning,
I hope someone maybe able to help. We have a couple of basic Custom Security Roles within CRM 2011, these had the minimum permissions.
However these no longer work in our CRM 2013 environment. When we put in the URL,
we just receive the message stating we do not have the required permissions. The screen is completely blank, so no menu at the top nothing is loading.
I have added the additional permissions I found on site:
User Application Metadata (Read and Write both at user level)
System Application Metadata (Read at BU level)
But these still do not seem to solve the issue. Does anyone know of any new permisions or old premission that are now absolutly required to access CRM.

Problems after dynamics crm upgrade
Hi l can anyone help. We have been through the dynamics upgrade and are experiencing a number of issues primarily:-
- All previous history (calls and emails) have gone from the records we have already had contact with
- To make a phone call seems to have gone from straight forward to very complicated (i.e. create in a new screen with no information pulled through so we have to input loads of repeat information blind as the call logging screen kills off the original record
is this common to all users and who do we contact to get a resolution

Email router 2013
Hi friends,
I have installed MSCRM 2013 on server 2012 with SQL server 2012. MSCRM 2013 running smoothly. Now I am installing email router 2013. A popup message is displaying "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
I observe that setup is looking for a MAPI mail client. My question is can I ignore this and click on next button otherwise there is any solution.

On Load Event Handler Methods are not firing after save of the form in CRM 2013.
We have some methods on load of the form, which used to get fired after modifying and saving the changes in the form in CRM 2011. But these methods are not getting fired after saving any changes in form in CRM 2013..
Dynamics CRM Server 2013 + Windows Server 2012 R2 install failure

I am installing MS Dynamics CRM Server 2013 on Windows Server 2012 R2, everything goes fine apart the installation process. As the final result i get a message:
"Microsoft Dynamics CRM Sever failed".
"Action Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Server.InstallConfigDatabaseAction failed. '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 1."
Can someone help me with this?
Data encryption confusion
Hi, we put one of our crm 2013 server in https to be used with ADFS.
After it, for other reason, I discover that Data encryption were activated on some of our Orgs. My collegues are saying that none of them activated it. Even if normally I do not believe the classic "I've done nothing" and "Probably someone else done it" and "Probably Harry Potter done it with magic wand", I've to say that something strange there is.
I checked the key of a organization that was opened and never user, and this is what I see:
Now, since we didn't installed japan Language pack and we are in Italy, I'm starting to believe that no one put that strage key inside.
So, encryption activated automatically if I put CRM2013 in https ?!!! There is no way to avoid it?
Mail Merge Bug Rollup 15
Anyone seeing that the at mail merge button on a contact does nothing after applying Rollup 15 (nothing pops)?
Outlook client 2007 and 2010
I updated one person's computer that reported the problem initially. Tested my machine on rollup 14 and it worked, went to 15 and it no longer works.
Is there a patch out there?
Easy Duplicate Detection?
Just wondering if there is a way to "Easily" view all duplicates based on a duplicate detection? I'm not sure if it's something my organization has set or if it is the default way to view the duplicates but I can only see 12 records per page and that list may go on for pages upon pages. What I want to do is be able to maybe export the duplicate records and give them to the owners and have them decide which ones are crucial to their group and which can be merged to another group. Also based on this is, would it be possible to then merge the leads outside of the CRM somehow? I realize that this isn't a very realistic possibility but figured I would ask it anyways and see whats out there.
