Import contacts with company names that do no exist in Accounts or Contacts

In the CRM template to import Contacts, if I want to import a company name, the template says that the company name as the data type Lookup and the company name record must already exist in Accounts or Contacts in Dynamics CRM or in the source file. When I imported new contacts in CRM Online 2015 from an Excel source file including company names that do not exist either in Accounts or Contacts, I always get the error message "Recursive parent-child contact loops are prohibited, (0x8004050a)". How can I import new company names for Contacts (that do not exist either in Accounts or Contacts) using only an Excel source file without getting any error ?


Populate Response Sent Date when email activity is complete

Hi, 

I want to update response sent date field in case when email activity for particular case completed. 

I think for that I need to create workflow but I am not sure whether that workflow should be created in Email entity or Case entity on which base I find that activity is completed. 

Sorry, I am new to CRM, so getting question on this basic things.

CRM 2015 cannot qualify lead

This is a strange one I came across today. Newly updated CRM from 2013 Online to 2015 Online. Suddenly they can't qualify Leads. 

The button is there on the ribbon and you can click it but nothing happens. You can Disqualify a Lead no problem. When you click the Disqualify button you get the dropdown giving you the various status reason.

Hello, I exported an xml file of users from a CRM 2011 environment. I imported this xml file of users into a CRM 2013 environment. The import wizard said that the job completed successfully. When I double-click on the job to open it, the common group in the left nav area has 3 nav items:

* Users Fully Imported
* Users Partially Imported
* Failures

No information is displayed for any of these groups. This seems unusual because each processed import record should fall into 1 of these categories. Any idea why no information is displayed for any of the users in the import xml file in any of these groups?

Dynamics CRM 2015 Import and Upgrade organization duration

We are currently testing the upgrade of our on premise CRM 2013 System to 2105. We are using separate hardware and are importing a restored backup of our 2013 Organization database into a freshly installed CRM 2015 deployment. We hit a couple of bumps, but nothing major.

However, the Import process is taking a rather long time. Like I started it last night, went to bed and it is still running. It is currently, and has been for at least an hour, on the Microsoft.Crm.Admin.CleanupOptionSolutionAction

It can run all day like this if needed, it is just in testing, but if there is something wrong here I would prefer to take action now rather than waiting all day and then try to figure it out. If it helps for comparison to other anecdotal data the CRM database is about 18.5 Gigabytes currently, with some fairly extensive 3rd party solutions (ClickDimensions and Assistance PSA) and none of the test hardware seems to be resource starved. All are Generation one Hyper-v machines running Windows Server 2012 with static disks, static memory and typical production resources.

Anybody out there willing to share their experience on the duration for the upgrade?

Hi,

anyone knows how to fix the connector mapping "NAV Posted Sales Invoice to Invoice".

This is my mapping:
details\item\uomid\dynamics_integrationkey Dynamics Integration Key Posted Sales Invoice Lines\Posted Sales Invoice Line\Unit of Measure Code
(invoice --> All Invoice Details / Invoice Product / Unit / Dynamics Integration Key)

Some products working, some not. The all have in NAV the same Unit ...
so the error couldnt be.

Any help on that?

Adding hierarchy to Cases causes error on case views

We are trying to implement the 2015 hierarchies feature in the case entity.  We are successful in setting up the hierarchy and everything appears to be working.  However, when some views (both system and custom) are loaded when you go to the case entity section, we receive a generic error - "an error has occurred." 

The error only occurs on some views and only occurs when the view is initially loaded.  For example, I can go to the case entity which loads View A by default and there is no error.  I can switch the view to View B and there is no error.  However if I click on Case in the command bar to reload that screen, it attempts to show View B and returns an error.  View A never returns an error and View B always returns an error when the screen reloads.

The views that return an error are a mix of system and custom views.  If I take out the Hierarchy Setting and change the 1:N relationship back to Hierarchical=No, then the errors do not occur.  Has anyone else encountered this?

Using filters for finding email queue items without corresponding custom entities

My company is using the CRM Online and we want to make use of the CRM to streamline the customer support processes in our company. We have already configured the mail synchronization, so all emails sent to a certain email address end up in our CRM queue. We've also created custom entities that define customers and their accounts as well as match accounts back to particular customer support representatives. Using the queue views filtering we've managed to create queues that have incoming emails that should be handled by a particular representative. The problem is that we cannot find a way to create a filter for a view that will show all queue items that do not have all the necessary attributes to match a customer account - like for example emails from new employees that have never contacted our customers support yet or some accout data is missing or we have a brand new account. We need to have a view like this in order to allow the supervisor fix data issues and manually hand over some work to representatives.

Our filter that matches accounts to customer representatives looks like this:

The problem is that there is no way to do something like SQL's RIGHT JOIN  and ability to check if the result IS NULL in the CRM's filtering criteria. 

We've been trying to work around this issue somehow with a different filter like an empty "Senders account" field, but it obviously is not the same and we get results that are not trustworthy.

I'm looking for an alternative solution - maybe we should look at some other field in the CRM like: not visible in view X or some other way to approach the problem. Maybe some way to alter the filter using SQL instead of the WYSIWYG.

I hope someone has had a similar problem with using the filters and there is a way to "hack" them.

How to add custom button on Form Ribbon for a sub grid loaded in forms tab.

Hi all, I am beginner on MS CRM 2013.

Scenario:

we have to add a custom button on Account entity form. This button should be shown up on selection of a record of a sub grid. This sub grid is placed in a tab of account entity form.

Question:

Is it possible?

If yes how can i achieve this. I am using Ribbon Workbench for MS CRM 2013.

Changing color and font for hyperlink in a workflow email

Is this possible?  I am allowed to change the color within the workflow itself but when the email is sent it reverts to a dark blue color.  Also is it possible to use fonts not listed in the editor for the workflow email?  I am copying and pasting from a Word template and all the text copies fine but when I insert the hyperlink it seems there is no option to use other fonts.

Hi,

I have created a new entity called Forecast associated to the opportunity entity. The forecast entity has 2 fields amount and month(the month field is a drop down menu with all the months). We use this entity to predict the profit we make each month with the associated opportunity.

What I want is when the first forecast is created is automatically creates 11 other forecasts with the next months and the same amount as the first one.

like so:
forecast 1
Amount: 833.33
month: May

Forecast 2
Amount: 833.33
Month: June

I tried to fiddle around with workflows but can get it to work. Is this even possible and if so how can I set this up? I prefer to use the build in Workflow creator if possible.

Hi,

I have next example:

  • At start of the year manager sets the sales budget for single product
  • Every Account can have several products
  • Every opportunity is associated with particular product/products 

 

In table that belongs to product i have this fields:

  • Budget Sales Amount
  • Invoiced Sales Amount
  • Opportunity Sales Amount ( this is copied from opportunity)
  • Connection to Acc

I would like to represent data in correlation something like:


Can some one explain to me how to do this, i have tried with stacked column but i got this:

  

Also can someone explain how to this with Goals, or something that u suggest

"Add New" button of Child Custom Entity from an Active Contract disappearing

I created a child entity under contract (1-N Primary Relationship) and added a datagrid to this child entity inside the Contract Form. Since the field is required to the Child Entity and the relationship is a primary relationship, the "+" button on the top of the grid opens a window to add a new item.

But, when the contract become active, the "Add New" button on the child entity grid disappear.

Firstly, I tried to change the relationship type from primary to referential. Nothing has changed.

Then, using Ribbon Workbench, I tried to give the Add New button of the child entity the same Display Rules and Enable Rules of the "Add New" button of the Contract Lines (which, even when the Contract is active, is not hiddden), or the same Display and Enable Rules of the "Open Associated Grid View", or let the Command with no Display Rules or Enable Rules at all, but the "Add New" button for the child entity is still hidden.

I even tried to create a new button, with the same javascript function of the Add New, but without any Display/Enable Rules. Still, the button remains hidden when the contract is active.

Any thoughts?

How do I add data to a memo field via workflow without overwriting it

I have a workflow that populates the description of an opportunity (memo field) with a combination of multiple fields coming from other entities.  Is there a way to do this without overwriting them.  I want to concatenate the data instead.

Ex: Worklow steps = Update Opportunity description with value of Field1

                                 Update Opportunity description with value of Field2

                                 Update Opportunity description with value of Field3

Needed result = Opportunity description = Field1 + Field2 + Field3

Error Removing Dashboard

When I attempt to delete a dashboard, I am receiving the an error, the screen shot and log is listed below. I was able to delete other dashboards, but the two listed as "Managed" will not delete. Any assistance would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Email router not adding signed emails into CRM

Hi THere,

We have an issue where the email router is reading all emails OK, but signed certificate emails are being ignored by the email router and not being placed in to CRM.   

Do you know why this might be?  This used to work in Exchange 2003, but now not in exchange 2010. 

We are on premise CRM2011 and have just migrated from Exchange 2003 to 2010.
