Hello,

I am quite new in Dynamics CRM and got problem  with Account sharing.

It on premises 2011 CRM Workgroup installation.

It is simple situation. One business unit called "CRM". Two users with all security roles. I have created Account and I am owner of it.

After I share this contact  with the second user (give all the sharing options) this user cannot see the account. The only way to show him this account is to make him the owner but in this case this account disappears from my view.

What I am doing wrong? Every thing looks so simple but something I am doing wrong.

Hi Everyone,

I just picked up a new laptop with Windows 8 and Office 2013 -

When I went to install the for Outlook I got the error

- Installation failed.  Dr.  Watson installation failed - or something very similar to that.

Any thoughts on this?  I saw details that related to CRM2011 but nothing specific to this.

Any help would be appreciated, I am not the most technical person...

I am in the process of installing CRM on a staging server. I am running the installation with one account but that account does not have access to the database server. Our DBA's have created another account that has access to create the databases. Is there a way to specify an account for the install to use to create the databases?

Hi there,

Title says it all. I'd like to add further billing frequencies, but I can't, because it's protected. Is there a way to do this directly in CRM or do I have to do it programatically?

I am working with a company that receives fax orders from their customers.  They would like to intengrate it into their CRM system.  They currently have Lync but only use it as an IM tool and are on an analog phone system.  They are a small company so they are on a limited budget.  I would like to push them to use Lync and dump the analog phones however I cannot seem to find anything about receiving faxes, there are plenty of add-on's out there that integrate Lync and CRM but I can't seem to find any information on receiving faxes.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have created 2 additional organizations for our on-premise CRM 2011. When I export and import the customizations, they appear to be in place.

Although I publish all customizations, none are reflected in the new organizations.

Hi.  We have a situation with our CRM 2011 On Premise system where we wrote some custom code to look to see if a Case has Open Activities before it processes to the next resolution stage.

All the users in our system (currently just developers) have the same System Role of System Administration.

 

The code works great for the developer who put in the custom code but does not work for anyone else even when tested against the same Case at the same stage with the same Open Activity.

We are puzzled and would rather have it fail all the time then  to work correctly for just one user but not for anyone else.

 

Does anyone have any idea as to what might be causing this and more importantly have to correct it.

Example Lead with duplicate email address - when creating leads with the process form I can enter the same email address and save and will not receive a warning. If I switch to the classic form and reuse the email address I see the warning I expect regarding a potential duplicate.  Also tested on account with the standard duplicate account name rule.

Do the new process forms support duplicate detection?

Currently when creating a task or a phone call in CRM, the default hour is 00:00 . is it possible to change it to be affected by the user work hours ?

I would like to ask that how can we create a field whose text type is numeric and length of data type is not more than 10 characters.??

and second thing can we do the customization to the already existing field with the name "mobile phone" data type from "text" to "numeric" in dynamics  and put the limit of not more than 10 characters CRM 2011.

Hi,

I'm new to CRM and the industry. I am assisting the process of implementing Dynamics in our firm. When working with leads, i noticed something weird. Say i have created a new lead. Now i have the options "Existing contact" and "Existing Account" open. I can associate an existing contact to this lead. The "Existing account" option is still available, and it is possible to add any random account to this field. is it the way Dynamics work? ideally when the contact is selected, the account to which he/she belongs should be reflected in accounts field right? why is this not happening?

Hi, we have an on-premise install of Dynamics CRM 2011 and created a temporary second organization on a separate server in order to test out some ideas safely. We used a trial install for this. The trial expires soon. It occurs to me that we could extend this by using our production license key in the test install - does anyone know if this would work and whether the license covers this kind of usage? The only other way I can think of is to set up a new server with another trial which seems rather a waste of effort.

Has anyone had an issue getting the Activity Feeds pages to load?  When I pull them up it just says "Loading" and I am unable to submit any posts or see any updates.  We used the Pinpoint download version and I made sure to check the "SDK processes" checkbox during the import.  I see the What's New links and Record Wall sections on my forms but they never load.

I didn't install Activity Feeds until after I installed UR12, so I don't know if it was working before; but in IE10, I have to manually switch each page I want to actually show the Record Wall to IE9 Standards.  Is there a way to edit the web.config file in a supported manner to force IE9 Standards mode (just like this community and forum page do)?

I also get the following error when trying to load the Record Wall in the Outlook Client:

"An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Error: Object doesn't support property or method 'selectNodes'

Code: 0

URL: blah.blah.com/.../ActivityFeeds.Mentions.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?"

 

Anyone have any ideas what to do with this?
