Searching leads and opportunities - only searches open, how to search closed??

I am constantly trying to search for leads and opportunities that have been closed.  Unfortunately, the search tool does not search closed leads or opportunities??  I is also very clunky - do they really expect salespeople to enclose every search with "*" to get a search to return anything??  Seems very un-user-friendly.  Can I fix this??

I have created 2 additional organizations for our on-premise CRM 2011. When I export and import the customizations, they appear to be in place.

Although I publish all customizations, none are reflected in the new organizations.

Setting a initial value to a float field in Dynamics CRM 4.0

Hello,

I'm trying to calculate some fields on a quote OnLoad event. One of the fields is a float field. Everything is calculated well but when I open the quote for the first time there is a warning "You must enter a number between .....".

Is there a way to somehow initialize that field with a value. I suppose that this will solve my problem.

Is there a way to exit the parent workflow

I need to trigger a workflow for 180 days sending emails , creating phone call and sending post card activities on certain days. I created a custom field in contact with 2 options Start and Stop. When user selects Start, the workflow is triggering and sending emails and creating tasks properly(for testing purpose i gave 5 min wait for each activity). Created  child workflows for each activity but the problem is when i select Stop in the middle the workflow doesn't stop it continues to execute. It doesn't create tasks or send emails but looks like the workflow is executing. When user selects stop how can I exit the parent workflow. I tried couple of ways but its not working. If anybody tried this before please share.

I'm trying to build a pipeline report that shows the monthly Goals for each team across the top of the report, followed by the list of open opportunities for that team. The report groups on the team (a custom field on the Opportunity form), so that when I run the report, each team's results are on one page and when exported to Excel, each team is on its own sheet/tab. My problem is showing only the goals for each team as a row across the top of the report.

Each goal is created in CRM by team and month. I created an Advanced Find query to return the goal title and amount, so my FetchXML result returns the following:

Team1Jan  $100

Team1Feb  $200

Team1March  $300

Team2Jan  $1000

Team2Feb  $2000

Team2March  $3000

 

What I need is to create the SSRS report to show the goals as a row by team, and to only show that team's goals based on the header value in the report:

Report Header: Team 1

Jan     Feb     March

$100   $200   $300

<< tabular list of all Team 1 open opportunities >>

 

I have the header/grouping and table of opportunities working great, just not the goals. I cannot figure out how to get them into a single row and filtered to match the report grouping. I currently return the goals and opportunities as 2 different datasets in SSRS. I can easily pivot the columns to rows using SQL, but apparently this is not possible in FetchXML

What are some possible techniques for generating a list of values from FetchXML as a set of columns instead and filtering them to match the report grouping?

 

Comparing Dates in Workflows

I have a workflow that creates an additional contact when a lead is qualified if needed. I want to prevent it from creating an additional contact if the lead already has a parent account. By the time the workflow runs the Lead's Parent Contact field is already set so I'm trying to compare the Lead's Modified On field to the Parent Contact's Created On field, but I can't get it to work consistently.

Start when: Record status changes

If Lead:Status equals [Qualified] AND [Lead:First Name C2 contains data AND [Lead:Modified On equals [Parent Contact for lead (Contact):Created On]]], then...

Anyone know how I can do this? Thanks!

Incoming Email Router Problem

Running reports for all records on all pages in the current view has stopped working

We've had a number of reports in CRM Dynamics that we use for producing proposals and invoices that have always worked fine.  However sometime around the 18th Jan they have stopped working when we try and run the report for all records on all pages int he current view.

We now just get an almost empty window pop up just wil a 'file' option and when we close the window there's a Microsoft error generated (details below).  On the 14th Jan we received a notification about some planned maintenance and it seems to co-incide with when we started to see this problem.

Scheduling Workflow for Contract End Date notifications

I am creating a workflow where an email should be sent 60 days before the contract end date and then 3 days before the contract end date.  The System Job shows the workflow status as 'Waiting' continuously. That means if a contract will expire after one year from now, the workflow will remain in 'Waiting' state for the entire year and will be changed to 'Succeeded' only when the condition is met. Could you please advise how to create this process so that it does not remain in waiting state for so long?  Is there some way that workflow wakes up only once a day to check the condition?

We are using CRM Online and I am new to workflows.  Thanks in advance.

IE10 Activity Feeds Glitch post UR12

I didn't install Activity Feeds until after I installed UR12, so I don't know if it was working before; but in IE10, I have to manually switch each page I want to actually show the Record Wall to IE9 Standards.  Is there a way to edit the web.config file in a supported manner to force IE9 Standards mode (just like this community and forum page do)?

I also get the following error when trying to load the Record Wall in the Outlook Client:

"An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Line: 28

Char: 1223

Error: Object doesn't support property or method 'selectNodes'

Code: 0

URL: blah.blah.com/.../ActivityFeeds.Mentions.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?"

 

Anyone have any ideas what to do with this?

CRM 2011 Enable Quick Find Record Limit error

We are using CRM 2011 UR 11 v2 (5.0.9690.2839). In CRM 2011 UR 10, MS introduced new feature that in Settings area you can configure Enable Quick Find Record Limit setting. If you set it to Yes, it will check in MSCRM_Config Database and  retrieve the value of AgreegateQuickFindRecordLimit value (default 50000).

Issue:

When you enter any search in quick find, if the number of records returned based on search criteria is higher than 50000 (or the value of AgreegateQuickFindRecordLimit ), it should return an error "The Quick Find limit is exceeded. Narrow your search by entering a longer query, or use Advanced Find."

BUT

In our case, if the number of records are higher than 50000, it is returning generic error message:

"An error has occured.

Try this Action again. If the problem continues, Check CRM community....."

Also, when I run the particular search criteria over the application server, it correctly retrun the error message "The Quick Find limit is exceeded. Narrow your search by entering a longer query, or use Advanced Find." However, from client m/c or DB server where IE settings are exactly same as application server and site is added in Trusted Site as well, we are getting generic error message.

Please help me how we can get Quick Find error message at client level as well.

Please also let me know if anyone is getting same behaviour


Contacts Reassigning on Their Own

We are working with CRM 2011 and are running into an issue where some contacts are all of a sudden being reassigned to other users.  We turned on Audit History and it shows that the account owner reassigned the contact to a different owner but in reality, that person did not.  For example, we have a NC-based sales person who noticed that a GA-based contact was showing up as one of his contacts.  When I look at the audit history, it says that he reassigned it but he did not – and this is happening to many contacts.  Any clue how this could be happening?  Thanks for any help you can provide!

Does anyone know if and when the CRM 2011 Outlook Plug-In will be supported on Windows Server 2012? It is supported for Windows 8, so it can't be *that* hard to support Windows Server 2012 based remote desktops?

Can anyone let me know how we can fetch discovery url dynamically in c#.

I don't want to hard code the "crm5.dynamics.com" in my code. Is there any way we can get this "crm5.dynamics.com" or "crm.dynamics.com" dynamically.

I have a .net application where I am entering username and password and on the basis of the credentials and discovery url (hardcoded as of now) I am fetching  the organization.
