Permissions needed to add a contact to an account

I have a group of users who need to be able to modify existing contacts and add contacts to an account.  They need no other write permissions for accounts.

Is there a way to let them add contacts to an account without giving them broad permissions to update accounts?

use existing bearer token within own webservice?

Hi,

I would like to create an webservice which is called from within Dynamics CE-Form and it should get the bearer token of the current user 

so it can also call the Dynamics-Api.

Is there a way to do this?

Installing Reporting extension for CRM 2016

Hi Team,

I am trying to install Reporting extension for CRM 2016 where SQL and Report server are different . Account using for installation for this setup and Reporting service account both has added in PrivReportingGroup group still I am getting ActiveDirectoryRightsValidator.Failure.Groups PrivReportingGroup error. 

Even I tried AutoGroupManagementOff  = 0 in install-config.xml file but didn't help me to proceed further.

Please help me on this.

Retrieve System views based on model driven app

Hi,

We have created two Model-driven apps and one for a salesperson and the other for a service person. In the app, we have added specific views so that each app has access to proper views. It's working correctly from CRM. We have also developed one HTML application in which we read the view list. But in our HTML its shows all the views so that when salesperson opens the HTML then they see all views but it should only show those that are available in their model-driven app. Is there any API or script using which we can read system views from CRM that are defined in the model-driven app.

How can I multiply a merge field in Word?

I have a mail merge document that outputs values from another piece of software (XERO). I need to multiply one of the merge field values to show a different value on the actual document.

e.g The merge field outputs 10.00 and I want to multiple the output value by
0.15 to display and print the value as 1.50

Please see my field below:

{ = {MERGEFIELD InvoiceAmountDue \* MERGEFORMAT}*0.15 }

When update the field it returns  !Syntax Error, <<

When teams are tagged in Posts, where can they find out (except in-app notification)

Hi there,

I would like to find out how members of a team can find out that they have been tagged in a Post.

Knowing that tagged users can find out that they have been tagged in a Post by adding their personal timeline to their dashboard, I was wondering how to enable this visibility for team members.

Does Microsoft Provide statistics on average case closure rates or case resolution success KPI's?

As a company we are wanting to benchmark our case closure 'time' rates and rate of approved/declined cases against some kind of metric. I would assume Microsoft provided some kind of information about improved case closure/resolution time as a selling point of the Dynamics 365 system but so far have found no success finiding any statistics on this. Does anyone know if such information exists and if so, is it accessible?

Error adding 2nd organization to Outlook plug-in

When adding a 2nd organization to the Configuration Wizard an error occurs:

This organization has already been configured.

The org I'm trying to add is a backup or our production CRM org.  It has a different name and runs from a different server with a different URL.

It must be keying off a different data point.  Organization ID maybe?  Anyone know?

Does it mean that Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk should stop being used completely? or does it use SOAP so that should be ok.

I know that Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.Client must not be used anymore.

If the code uses CrmServiceClient to connect with OAuth - is this part of the removal?

Save filter in knowledge search

Hi

We want to use internal knowledge articles in our system, but every time you use knowledge search the filter has to be manually set to internal. If you refresh the page the setting is set back to external. Is there a way to save the internal filter or other workarounds?

Using a 2nd deployment with Server-side-sync

We have a production environment and a testing environment.  Can we connect both to server-side-sync?

Is it just a matter of adding another serviceprincipalname or is there more to it than that?

DynamicsCRM Data Export Service---Determining Entity Key Column

Is there a way that we can determine the Key Column(s) used in our current DynamicsCRM Data Export Service?

We are in the process of trying to replace the Deprecated Data Export Service with a SSIS Solution using Kingsway components and in order to use the UPSERT we need to identify the current Entity key column(s). 

Is there any way we can determine those key column(s) from the current existing and running Data Export Service?

SSRS SQL report show data based on login user role

I have written SQL query to display created cases and closed cases based on team.But for a agent login it need to only his data.and admin need to see his data as well as agent data.After deploying the rdl it shows same data with different user security roles.any help on this would be appreciated.

Malicious Deleted of Records? - Bulk Deletion

We had 200,000 records deleted from our system. This was done with an Admin user we do not have access to. This is a partner hosted instance of CRM and only they have access to that admin user. Someone actually configured a bulk delete job, selected orders and then hit go. No query, no nothing. They just bulk deleted these records.  

When I did a fetch query for the same time frame that was reporting 400,000 records deleted. 

My question is, which total is correct? Is my fetch grabbing "artifacts of some kind" of the record deletions and that is doubling the number of records deleted? Or, my fear is, another job was set up somewhere else and another 200,000 records were deleted somewhere else? 

It has been about a week and my partner still has not told me what transpired. I made sure to grab a file of deleted entries from the audit log and I did a screen grab of the bulk deletion history entry in CRM when I first noticed that this happened so I do have a record of what happened. 

It clearly could have been a situation where someone thought they were in a dev or a UAT environment and deleted records by mistake but I still have no answer.

Today, the bulk deletion entry of the 200,000 record deletion is missing from CRM. In other words, when I go to all bulk deletion jobs, this specific job that was setup by that specific Admin user is no longer showing in the history. So the evidence that it actually took place is gone. The only way I think that can be deleted is from another bulk deletion job or a direct delete from the DB. I don't think you can just delete an entry from the bulk deletion history interface. I do not see that capability. Even so, a complete restore of records should not have removed this entry. Even if the deletion was a mistake, the history and entry that it took place should not have been removed. 

I do not have a complete report of all deleted records from our system other than the file I grabbed from a fetch. We did have a major issue with missing orders but those seem to be restored at this point. 

I find it suspect we still do not have an answer on what happened and if it was an accident or not. Now that bulk deletion entry is missing from the history. Also, now when I try to run an fetch, my fetch is timing out. So now I can't run that again either. I get this error now. Maybe its just a coincidence?

I am feeling a bit paranoid at this point. Is my paranoia unfounded?
