Outreach(Lead) Log Notes not saving when clicking "Save and Close" First time

Hi Experts,

Outreach Log Notes not saving when clicking "Save and Close".

This issue is happening only the first time when someone enter Notes and don’t hit Done button or click outside notes window. On the subsequent updates it’s not happening. 

Below are the steps which I performed.

  1. I created an outreach and saved it so that Notes gets enable.
  2. Entered the notes title and description and then hit "save and close" - Notes not saved
  3. Opened the same activity and did same as I did in 2nd step and this time it worked.

Please suggest.

Hi,

I have a business requirement like below, please suggest to achieve it.

I have three steps on web form and when the form load I will land on the "Step1". once the data is entered, I will click on "Next", data is saving and moving to "Step2". Now in this step I am entering the data in the text box and instead of "Next" click user might click on "Previous" button. but he wants to save the data on click of "Previous" button as well.

As per OOB feature, the step data will be saved only on click of "Next". Is there any way to save the data on click of "Previous" button.

Email template for Custom Entities

CRM 2016

I am looking for a 'solution' to be able to create an email template for a custom entity.

We receive files from our customers which are processed and imported into our CRM into a custom entity and we then produce a pdf report for the customer. I'm looking to try and automate the emailing of the report. I have spent a day reading and trying different things to create an email template but with no success

I have tried importing the crmcustomermails.zip solution, but it just hangs and doesn't import. I have also downloaded the dynamics-custom-emails-master.zip and tried to import this and again this fails.

I'm running CRM 2016 On-Premises.

Does anyone know of any 'solutions' available that I could look at, or assist in why the two solutions I have tried wont import.

How to stop showing recent records for lookup fields in UCI

Hi Experts ,

we are using lookup fields in BPF when we clicked on the lookup field it was showing the recent records in UCI environment.

I just want to hide the recent records  for the lookup fields in BPF. to hide on tyhe form level i have enabled the form option and it was hided on the form . but i want to hide the recent records for BPF lookups as well

Hello everyone!

Hope all of you are fine and happy. Can anyone tell me how to download and install solution packager for Microsoft dynamics 365 online. I tried to install it in visual studio through Nu get Package manager but during installation error occurred that 

"Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression State
Error Unable to resolve dependency 'XrmToolBox'. Source(s) used: 'nuget.org', 'Microsoft Visual Studio Offline Packages'."

So i downloaded XrmToolBox from "https://www.nuget.org/packages/XrmToolBoxPackage/1.2019.2.30" but blank file downloaded. Can anyone tell me what i do ?

Custom field for contacts

Hello, 

I have question about fields.  We need to store in crm additional contact for task. They can be maximum 4.  Therefore we have added field to the task conName1, conLastName1, conEmail1, conName2 etc.. 

How to simply edit thies fields? My idea is, that I will f.e. create Iframe, with button, when I will click on button, the modal dialog with contacts will be shown. On close I will update the fields in crmobject. 

Is it right way? Or there is better solution? 

(Last I worked with crm3 so I am new in Dynamics 365)

Difference in assigning functions/screens

dear all

i do have one WF (runtime) which sends email to the new assignee when case is assigned, this email contains who was the user who did assign the case to the new user.

so email looks like the following :

Dear NewOnwe

The case Xyz was re-assigned to you by the ModifiedBy User.

if i do the assigning by changing the owner from the top right corner, then the ModifiedBy value is the user who did the actual reassigning, which is perfect.

but if the user changes the ownership by clicking "Assign" button, then the value of ModifiedBy is always SYSTEM.

why the behavior is different, i dont want the "SYSTEM" user to show as the user who did the re-assigning, i need the actual user who did it to appear in the email. please help.

We have some of our associates loaded as Contacts into CRM, because they have purchased our products.  We noticed that email activity with customers is displaying in the activities grid, and we would like to know if anyone has found a way to turn off email tracking for specific users?

Show all quote lines total amount sum in TOTAL Field on word quote template

Hello Friends,

I am facing one issue when creating word template for quote.

Able to get all the products but I need to add all the total amount of all quote line in total field. I tried the default feature of Word 

i.e. SUM (ABOVE) but this doesn't worked at all.

I would really appreciate all your support. Please suggest if anyone have some solution.

Where is the Systems View List

Hello CRM Forum,

Trying to reactivate an Account in the CRM version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Verwsion 1612 on premises.
I read
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/basics/deactivate-activate-account-contact

which says one needs to
'view a deactivated account or contact, in the System Views list,'
This assumes one knows where the Systems View List is, which I don't.
So now a search is done for the System View List.

This script says the method is to go  to Settings>Customizations>Customize the System.

But the Settings on the app provides Options, Print Preview, Apps for Dynamics, See Welcome Screen, About, Privacy Statement

The Options choice allows General, Activities, Formats, Email, Templates, Email, Languages 
No Customization.

These so called instructions that don't allow for a complete set of possibilities are infuriating.

How is an Account reactivated?

Recently I saw that many of the activities of the Accounts on the social pane, have changed timestamps date to a specific date. When i click on the email, the email was sent 5 years ago. Why does this happen?

Unable to pass data via Query String

Hi all,

I have taken a simple scenerio, i have written a script that opens a new Entity Form from existing entity form. we all know the method  "openEntityForm" to open any existing or new entity form. I have written a following code registered on Lead Entity and it will open Account:

Server Side Synchronization with multiple organizations with multiple o365 domains

For a crm 365 8.2 on-prem ifd deployment, we have multiple organizations and each organization has their own o365 tenancy and license.  Is it possible for me to still use server side sync for these organizations if I'm not provided an o365 account with global admin membership?

Mailboxes with continuous errors due to TimeZoneRuleVersionNumber issue

Good morning everyone, hope someone can give me a hand with this problem.

We recently upgraded from CRM 2013 to CRM 2016  Version 1612 (8.2.0.749) (DB 8.2.0.749) on-premises with Server-Side Synchronization. We have an issue with half of our mailboxes which are "with continuous  errors and in need of attention"; the other mailboxes are healthy and running.

When I download the Mailbox Details file of one of the troubled mailboxes, it shows the following Unhandled Exception:

lastsyncerrorcode : 104

The lastsyncerrorcode relates to mailboxes having an issue synchronizing Accounts, Contacts and Tasks, even though the mailboxes synchronize correctly for Incoming and Outgoing mail.

When I look into the Mailboxes table in SQL Server, the ones having trouble have a wrong TimeZoneRuleVersionNumber value.

Where does CRM get this value? Why some mailboxes work properly and some don't?

I have tried changing the ACT Synchronization Method to None and back to Server-Side and running the test again, which "fixes" the mailbox for a couple of minutes but then goes back to error.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm trying to register a plugin assembly and getting this error even though I select the plugin to register.

I tried different 9.0.x versions of Microsoft.CrmSdk.XrmTooling.PluginRegistrationTool but all gave the same error.

I'm using CRM online and its version is 9.1.

Which version of plugin registration tool should I use?

CRM 2016 Quick Find View not finding active records

We are having a bizarre issue with our 2016 on-premise CRM Quick Find View. Basically, we are not able to use Quick Find View to search for some active records (incidents to be exact).

When we go to the incident's All Active Incidents view and use the search bar (which uses Quick Find View), we are able to search for some active records, yet are unable to search for some others.

We have configured the incident's Quick Find View to search in columns such as ticket number and title. I have compared two such records (one returning and one non-returning) together side-by-side in the SQL Management Studio, and all seems OK.

At first I thought the columns we are searching in might have invalid characters in them for the non-returning record. But that is not the case.

Also, the column names are selected in the Add Find Columns configuration of the Quick Find View. So that's not the cause either.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
