Customization using power platform

Hello,

As now the customization are done through Power Platform, I created a standard custom entity , but cannot see anywhere in the UI.Also previously we used to configure the area also for the custom entity ,where it needs to be displayed. But now it is not asking that configuration even.

Where can i see my created custom entity?How can I define area where it should be available?

I am trying to import an organization from crm 4 to crm 2011

Below is the error I receive

System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: The dependent component Entity (Id=5f2e7ae7-d327-49b5-a343-61d48f1bcd28) does not exist.  Failure trying to associate it with EntityRelationshipRole (Id=f6b1b0e9-f61a-434d-8dc8-a3417eccb233) as a dependency. Missing dependency lookup type = PrimaryKeyLookup.

I queried SQL & found out that the error means the below:

The dependent component Entity (TransactionCurrency) does not exist. Failure trying to associate it with EntityRelationshipRole (TransactionCurrency_KbArticle) as a dependency.

These are system entities, please advise how can I proceed

Hello,

My database is growing quickly because of emails sent by Quick Campaign.

The size is now 150 Gb.

Is it possible to clear "some" email (NOT ALL) from Audit History ? Because the delete only move the e-mails to the history and the database size is the same.

MS CRM Android Table App - cannot connect to server after update from 23.2.2019

After updating CRM Tablet App for Android (update from 23.2.2019) cann't connect to CRM server , error "

Your server is not available or does not support this application”

   iPad CRM Tablet app works fine. Server version 8.2.2.112 (IFD setuped correctly and working for web browser, iPad app)

Any ideas?  How/where can I get previous CRM tablet app version to compare behavior.

Annotation form in Unified Interface is not displaying the regarding field

Hi,

The users are using Relevance Search to search from attachments. Now in the Unified Interface the search find correct annotation (note) but user cannot navigate to the regarding entity nor open the attachment from the form.

I have discovered couple of workarounds but all of those are so clumsy that it really slows down users. So are there better workarounds or even a solution? I have not yet tested the behavior in the April 2019 UI refresh .

My workarounds

- Use dedicated "classic" app for this kind of search (I have 5 different user groups with UI apps and only one classic APP so there are mixed needs for the app)

- Use advanced search to search the annotation using the filename from Relevance search results. From Advanced search the "classic" note form is opened instead of UI form

- Open the annotation from relevance search results. Then edit the url and remove the appid parameter => classic form is opened

Problem: Workflow-created email in draftmode - and signature

We have a qouple of workflows set up, that create emails in draftmode, with pre-defined senders and recipients (For example the owner of a case, and the customer).
An example would be a case being resolved, and the system then creating an email in draft mode from - with the owner of the case being set as sender. In many circumstances we need to have these in draft-mode, so that the user can make adjustmenst to the predefined text before sending, add attachments and so on.

Recentely we upgraded to 8.2.3.8 on-prem, and after this we are having trouble with the users default signature being added when the users open the workflow-created email.

It's then added at the TOP of the email-message itself, not after the workflow-created text.

The signature is not added during the email-creation itself, as I've checked this by expanding the email in social pane - it's only added upon opening the mail, before sending.

So what I've now spent hours searching for, is a way to actually add the default signature in the workflow-process itself, to remedy this problem?

I cant find any way, so far, of doing this through the default workflow designer...no step for "add email signature" or such...

(I've also tried both realtime and background workflows, ownership of  the created email and such - but nothing has come out of it so far.)

Tips would be very much welcome here....

Exporting dynamics365 to external customers

I have a requirement from my business departments to expose dynamics365 CASEs to external customers.

I mean, our external customers shall be able to access dynamics365 to create CASE and receive updates on their cases (resolved, cancelled…etc)

Hello everybody,

When I install Dynamics 365 V9.0 Onpremise organization that has Turkish as a base language , an error occured : "Failed to load solution Application Common"

I’ve looked at exception details: "Attribute with Name TransactionCurrencyId already exists on entity Territory"

Is anyone else experiencing this error?

Grant access to Child Record Only

Hi Guys,


I am struggling with a security requirement. I need to give access to a child record of Contacts, but not the parent Contact record

I have two custom entities:

Entity 1 has a 1:N relationship with Entity 2

Entity 2 has a N:1 relationship with Contacts 

My security model is as follows:

BU 1

BU 2

Security Role has BU only access to Entity 1, 2 and contacts

I need to give access users in BU 1 access to Entity 2 records owned by BU 2. The associated Contacts are owned by BU2.

I cannot give access to the contact records of BU2.

 
The problem is that they cannot see Entity 2 records that are associated with contacts outside of their own BU.

I hope this makes sense and someone can help.

How to display response of custom plugin on CRM Web From?

I have a requirement in which on a form button named Track Shipment  click I need to call my custom plugin which is implementing  FedEx tracking web services (WSDL) 

This service takes tracking number as input & get the JSON response.

Now the issue is how can I display that JSON Response on CRM web form?

Or Is there any other why to full fill this requirement?

Editing a view/grid...

Hi

If I have an editable view/grid and I make a change to a field there and have a business rule that kicks off on change and shows another field and makes it required, what would happen when I make this change on the view?  Would I get a message that I have to enter something in the required field now or would it just save it still?

Mapping data isn't working

Hello

I've created two custom entities Campus and Student.  Student has a Lookup field to Campus.

I'd like to be able to create new Student records upon a button click from a Campus record  (I created an 'Add Student' button to Campus entity using ribbon workbench).

Both of the entities have an Address field and I'd like the Address field in Campus to be mapped to the address field of Student. 

In the 1:N relationship between the two entities I used mapping to map both of the fields ,but when I click on Add Student the field Address in the opened Student record remains empty.

What could be the problem here? Is it not how mapping works?

Lead names from Dynamics CRM don't show when they call the Company Owner to their personal phone

Hi

We have found internally that when CONTACTS in dynamics CRM are calling their personal phones their name (as saved in CRM) displays on the phone they are calling, as caller ID. This is happening even when the contact IS NOT saved in the phone address book, so this is somehow pulling from Dynamics CRM.

However this does not happen for LEADS. So when a lead is calling a member of the teams personal phone, and they exist in CRM, it is just showing the number they are calling off, not their name as the caller ID as it does for contacts.

Can anyone explain to me how this is set up, and why this is working for contacts not leads? All members of the team have the CRM app, so it should be pulling through?

We just need to ensure this is up and working for both contacts and leads.

MS Dynamics 365 Running slow for users 28-03-2019 3.25pm

Our instance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CM v9 is running slow when attempting to load pages, there is no notification from Microsoft of any known incident occuring elsewhere.

We are not running any reporting or exports from Dynamics currently that might be causing this issue.

Might anyone have any ideas as to what may be the cause?

How can I break the onchange with status "finished" of a BPF in JavaScript?

The Issue is:

the CRM user can click on the finish button in the BPF before the form is saved.

In this case I have to break this event and give a message to user.

Outlook add-in: Attaching email to opportunity only working intermittently

Hi guys, 

A strange thing is happening in our office where emails are linking to opportunities some days and on other days there are not.

Emailing the same person today and tomorrow could result in no emails attaching or both attaching or even just one. Sending the email from outlook on the web offers the same issue. It might work today and tomorrow it might not.

Before I dive in to the world of Microsoft support, is there anything obvious which has changed in the last couple of months which has made the outlook add-in unreliable?

UCI Interface permission to disable create flow but run existing flows

Greetings, I have recently upgraded my organization to UCI Inteface and enabled flow so that user can run workflows. however create flow button is coming. I dont want users to create flow only run workflows. please advice if there is setting permission to do so
