We have a business rule (8 of them) being used to set whole number values in eight different fields. We also have a calculated field (whole number) being used to add up all of these fields into one total number. The total is showing as blank and all eight fields used in the calculation and set by each business rule are working and contain values.
Any idea why the calculated field wont total up the 8 values in the other fields?
I have an issue I've been unable to troubleshoot. I have 1-2 users who have been accidentally overwriting system views like "Open Opportunities." They are using that as a starting point to create a custom view, but instead of saving as, and creating it, they are simply hitting save, and somehow saving over the system view.
I have pored over the security permissions these users have, and can't find anything about modifying system views, but it's happened about 4 times now. Any thoughts?

Hi, I plan to have a suffix number for each case, for example, if case number is existed, I want to add suffix incremental number like "-001","-002", it seems like I have to create another entity to maintain this, or any new suggestions?
For the past week I've been following every video, and tutorial on the web and have not been able to create a successful connection string.
My company has a server established remotely and when i try to connect to our test environment it will not successfully authenticate the string.
Here is the setup:
With all this information I should be able to create the string no problem, but
Whenever I try to make the connection string it won't log on, it'll find the server, but refuses to authenticate any help would be appreciated.
We have recently noticed an issue with our Dynamics Online instance. When we create a new phone call record, the Start Date field is set to yesterday's date at 8:00 PM. It appears that this may have started when we recently received the update to from Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2016 Update 1 to Dynamics 365. Currently two of our environments that are on the latest release of Dynamics 365 have this issue, but out one Test environment which is still on Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2016 Update 1 does not have this issue, and when a new phone call is created it shows the Start Date as the date and time that the new phone call was created.
We do have some workflows that run that modify new phone call records when they are created, but when looking at the Audit history, it doesn't show that the Start date fields has been modified.
Has anyone else seen this behavior since the latest update?

I am seeking knowledge regarding best practices for solution use. I have a solution (Dev2Prod) that I've used for several export/import migrations from Sandbox to Production. My challenge, I have unsuccessfully attempted to use RibbonWorkBench (RW) using Dev2Prod. RW errors with message depicted in the attachment.
My question: If I create a new solution (Dev2Prod_Ribbons) specifically to modify the Ribbons and migrate the changes from Dev to Prod, what are the implications?
Will the use of Dev2Prod_Ribbons affect my next migration of Dev2Prod?
If you can point me to a good source that explains "best practices for solutions", I would certainly appreciate it.

I got this specific user, who is not able to open "My Open Opportunities" on IPad, when he changes the view to "My Open Opportunities", after loading for a while it throws a pop-up saying "An error has occurred". Same user is able to open the view on IE and Chrome.
I have restarted the App and also the IPad, cleared cookies but nothing worked. The view works fine for all other users on IPad and Windows. There are 19,000+ records for that user under that view. Any suggestion are appreciated.
For some reason I am unable to use both the Contacts table and Accounts table when I am creating a report in Report Wizard.
I am sure its a user problem. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong.

Just recently had to recover from a disaster. After restoring from the backup, some emails went out that were not suppose to. How can we prevent this in the future. Normal processes during the day have workflows that are triggered at the time a record is created, then waits for 2 days then creates and sends an email. The emails that were sent out ranged from 2 to 2 months. The ones older than the 2 days were more than likely stuck do to mail server issues, but for the ones that were in the normal waiting period, what could be done to prevent these from going out.
I am getting an error when I try to launch a modal window from an entity list. URL is not capturing the id field. I see the following error when inspect in chrome.

I have an excel file containing around 300 leads from a trade show. I'm certain about a third of them are existing customers in the CRM already, but I would like to import the leads into the CRM with no duplicates.
What would the best practice be for this? I've mass imported leads/opps/contacts into CRM before, but they have all been new customers. Ideally, I would like to forgo the user having to manually utilize the "Existing Contact" and "Existing Account" fields in the Process flow bar.
I was hoping the Existing Contact/Account fields would be present on the Import template, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

From the Dashboard Queueitem subgrid when I select a record it enables the workon button and assign a lead to me or a user that I select.
I am trying to do the same functionality of the Work On button (located in Queueitem), for the Lead View.
I tried to do it by adding the button using the ribbon workbench solution and replicate the configuration of the Work On Button, so I tried to do it manually. But it seems that the command is wrong, the window comes out fine, but when I click on ASSIGN, it comes up a message that says that the action cannot be completed.
Could you please recommend something to do this function?
I am in the process of looking through CRM 2016 to determine which clients have contracts in CRM or which clients do not have contracts in CRM. Currently, I am manually checking each active client account and going into the contracts folder to see if any documents are in there. I was wondering if there is a way to pull this information to into a spreadsheet or something similar, rather than manually checking each client. Thank you for any help you can provide.

In this video, they show that you can have line borders around each section as shown below.
This next image is how my interface loos on the same Account page. Notice no borders on mine.
Now I follow the instructions in this video on how to change colors add border, add lines in fields etc...Basically to look nice like the one in the video.
BUT, there is no option in mine to change the color as in theirs. The image below shows one place the video shows to change color. This just doesn't exist I'm my window.
Why don't I have this color field in mine? Mine is below.

After upgrading from CRM 2016 to CRM 365 (v8.2.1.342) on-premises, the following situation doesn't work any more.
Let's say EntityA and EntityB have a N:N relationship.
On EntityA is a subgrid of EntityB. When I try to add a new record from the subgrid, the record created is not associated with the relationship.
RecordB is created and then I need to manually need to associate to RecordA.
This was not the case previously on CRM 2016 (v8.0) where the Associate message would get called after Create.
I have tested this with 2 new entities without any customization.
Any ideas why this change happened or is something broken on my side?
