Javascript error after migration CRM 2016

Hey guys!

We migrated CRM 2016 last friday and now everytime we click on a contact we see this error message.

I checked - codes on both versions 2013 and 2016 are exactly the same

Hi there,

I have created a sub-grid on the Project form for Project Tasks. It wold be much easier for office staff to be able to add tasks on the actual form instead of having to go behind into Work Breakdown Structure to add each task. everything looks good besides for the "Add new" button not being visible.

Can anyone here assist me please

Correct Contact list on dynamic marketing lists

Hi everyone, 

I've tried to create a new view to display the contacts in my dynamic marketing lists.

Unfortunately, as I have created a new one and not changed the view called "Contact List Members View", now when I open my marketing list, the contact list doesn't only show the contacts corresponding to my dynamic list criterias, but all of my contacts.

The only way for me to only show the corresponding contacts is to allow users to change the view and select  the view "Contact List Members View" as this one is not even available as a default view.

Would you know a way to set the "Contact List Members View" as the default view or to change a created view properties to only show the contacts corresponding to my dynamics list creterias ?

Receiving an error when trying to delete a managed solution

I am getting the following error when trying to delete a managed solution. Has anyone encountered this? The solution does not actually touch the Contract entity, however I am not sure if this error is meaning that, or a data contract. I am using CRM2016 on prem, with the december update

My ultimate goal I am trying achieve is to clean up some fields that had their datatypes altered. I want to use the same name so I am trying to delete them from my test environment using the method outlined in this blog post: www.mscrm.com/.../fields-that-are-not-valid-were.html

Lookup not giving the search results accurately

Hi,

I have a lookup field for one of the entity and the search results are inaccurate.

For ex: when I try to search for California, I am getting results as Michigan.

This is working fine in Dev but not in Prod

Any help or guidance to resolve this is highly appreciated.

Dynamics 365 Portals and Localized error messages

Hi,

I am using the Dynamics 365 Portals (Version 8.x), and had some error messages not displayed in the correct language, Example in Register page, all messages are in English. However, in SignIn page they are displayed with the correct language (French).

However, the labels are correctly translated in the Register Page....

Any idea of the cause ?

Missing ContactID on Quote and Order

We are attempting to keep our new CRM as Vanilla as possible.

But here is my issue:

When I create an Opportunity and specify an Account and a Contact, then I create a Quote, only the Account is copied over to the Quote.

I have looked at the fields available (assuming I was just missing the ContactId field) and all I can see is a text field.  Is there not a UniqueIdentier field for ContactId on a Quote and an Order.

I need this information to be carried across from the Opportunity.

We did find a table called ContactQuote which has the QuoteId and ContactId in, but it seems  to be disabled and the person I talked to at Microsoft said this is not working at this time.

So I have to ask, how does everyone else handle such a simple task?

I was wondering how I would go about modifying the Role dropdown for Stakeholders and Sales Team subgrids in the Opportunity main form? Is it a field in one of the entities?

Hi

I want to run reports on how long an opportunity might be sitting in a specific sales stage for. I noticed that in the new sales process flow, there is now a section which outlines how long an opportunity is sitting in a particular stage for, as well as how long the opportunity has been open overall. 

Is there a back end field I could utilise to generate dashboard reports based off this new functionality?

One of our client having the CRM 2011 on promise with SharePoint 2010 on server and they would like to integrate the current CRM 2011 SharePoint list component to SharePoint 2013 / 2016 online .

Is anyway we can connect the SharePoint 2013 / 2016 online with CRM 2011 on promise and integrate the list component ? Is this combination works ? Please advice .

ADX version 7 - CRUD surrounding grandchildren entities

I'm new to ADX and am attempting to create a portal that allow clients to create and maintain entities that are nested in a deep relationship structure.

For example: EntityA references a collection of EntityB which references a collection of EntityC

The only way I've manged to get this to work is to have subgrids that allow you to create a child entity for EntityB, and then once created I'm able to have another action in the EntityB subgrid to navigate to an edit form which contains a subgrid of EntityC. The problem is that you have to create EntityB before the subgrid allows you to create related child entities for EntityC. I was hoping you could set up the EntityB  creation in steps, so that the new EntityB is created first, click next, and then create related EntityC entries.

I did notice there is an option with entity forms "Auto Generate Steps from Tab", but this won't save the records until all the steps have completed, which means the related entities subgrid won't allow you to create the entities as the parent has not been saved.

My apologies if this isn't clear.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what is the difference in client & server usd installation?which one is used in on-premises and why? 

Even when i try to connect it with my online instance it open up empty.Is there any other config need to done ?

I have two entities Login and Roles in N:N relationship. I have written a plugin on associate of Role in Login Master. On associating a Role to Login, "There is no active transaction. This error is usually caused by custom plug-ins that ignore errors from service calls and continue processing" error is showing. The plugin is doing its work but role is not associated with Login. Role is associated to Login if I disable the plugin.

During my efforts to configure mailboxes, on failures , I had revived something called alert as a yellow bar over the screen everywhere (e.g. over dashboard). I knew such alerts could be created on the forms with java but this one really useful specially for announcements and also some important incidents some individual may need to consider. Best of all was that the alert was aimed at specific user.

What I need to know is if there is a way to create such an alert through workflow.

Hi

what is the suitable security rule that users "only" read activities of other users and prevent them to assign them to other one!

example: user 1 create task , and assign to user 2

user 3 can see this activity but couldn't assign or modify this task to other one.

I have 2 custom entities, one entity (A) has 2 fields (new_subject (string)& new_agreementtemplate(lookup to entity B)) , another entity (B) has 2 fields (new_subject (option set)& ID).

I want user to select a record of lookup field(new_agreementtemplate) in "A" entity, subject fills via subject of lookup field. I wrote below code, But it doesn't work because of option set if I choose string filed It works correctly.

Would you please help me?

Which metadata endpoint should I support /$metadata or /EntityDefinitions for CRM development

Hi,

we are working on Dynamics CRM integration development and using Web APIs for the same.

While analyzing CRM I came to know there are 2 endpoint which return metadata and are mentioned below:

1. $metadata (returns EDMX metadata file)

2. /EntityDefinitions and /RelationshipDefinitions (JSON metadata)

I would like to know which endpoint should I consider for developing the CRM ?

Which endpoint is preferred considering the CRM development?
