Configuring claims based auth

Hi Everybody,


I have an issue when configuring claims based authentication with MS CRM 2013.

We have purchased a wildcard + binded it to the websites, installed ADFS on a separate server and created all the relevant DNS entries both internally + externally. 

All the DNS entries are resolving correctly and i am able to access the IIS of both servers. 

The issue is when we go to enter the federation meta data url to configure the claims we get the error saying the federation meta data url is not available and we receive a 404 error from the internet page on the machine. 

However if enter the federation meta data url on my personal machine then i am able resolve the url and see the xml displayed correctly.

Any help will be massively appreciated!

Copy 1st entitiy field to custom 2nd entity field on creation and being able to edit it

I have tough times creating this functionallity:
1. Copy 1st entitiy field to custom 2nd entity field on creation (2nd field is custom created)
2. Be able to freely edit copied 2nd entity field and keep original record untouched

The case:
1. Copy 'Product.Name' >>> 'OpportunityProduct.CustomName' when added
2. Abillity to edit 'OpportunityProduct.CustomName' freely afterwards

In general, I would like to have OpportunityProduct.Name customizable/editable.

Is it possible to create an import template for the Price list item Entity including the following related/lookup fields:

  • Product code (from Product entity)
  • Price list (From Price List entity)

Search from optionSet values in a Workflow

Hello, I have a list of values defined in an Option Set. What I want to achieve is to define a Workflow.

This workflow will be defined on Create Action. If a field (Say A) on the form has value from the OptionSet, then I need to take some action. The issue here is that the OptionSet entries may change and are not static. How do I make sure that the value is currently present in an OptionSet? Or is there a somethingother than OptionSet that I can use?

Deleting custom entity

I have a custom entity called component that is not being used. I'd like to delete the entity but it has a dependency - relationship to order product. So first, I am trying to delete the relationship but I am receiving a sql time out error when i do this. there are no records or data for the entity component. any suggestions on how to get around this?

CRM Auto-Generating Cases in Error

Users are inputting cases but CRM is auto-generating new cases with the same information despite multiple required fields in the form. For example, in the below 4 cases have generated by the same user within the same minute for the same ID number. Is there any way to prevent this?

  

CRM 2015 Performance testing using VSTS 2013 Webtest

I have created a Web test for CRM 2015, the webtest runs and does not through any errors however the data is not getting created in the CRM 2015 application.

I wanted to know how does CRM work in terms of considering the received request as new request

Right regarding to fields become mandatory

Hi,

I have some users belong to two différentes security roles.

One of them allow users to modify their own opportunities and the other one allows them to modify opportunities of their divisions.

I migrate CRM 2013 -> CRM 2015 and I import all opportunities from the older server to the newer (via CSV files) and gave foreach opportunity the good owner.

I have no problem of right. But in the new server a field is become mandatory and for some opportunites I imported, it was not filled.

If I (which mean a administrator) open the opportunity I have a red cross near to the field which invite me to fill the empty field.

But for other users (even if they are owner of opportunities they tried to open) when they try to open opportunities, a report appears as error and it seems to be a problem of right (AccessLib : AccessCheckEx, ObjectTypeCode = 3 (opportunity)).

Am I right when I said it is due to the empty field become mandatory ? And if yes, How to fix it in security role ?

Help button not working

I feel that this has likely been addressed somewhere, but it turns out that "help button not working" is a difficult thing to search for.  :-)  Anyway, if I click the ?, I get "Help on the requested page could not be found...".  If I click on the ? within that window and go to one of the topics on the list, I get "You're seeing the CRM Basics guide or the CRM for Outlook Basics guide because you're not connected to the Internet right now."  I am definitely connected to the Internet right now.

I'm also getting a couple of errors in the event viewer related to this.  I'm regularly getting an error regarding CRMMonitoringTest, like in this post - https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/p/153489/411385#411385 .  Also, when I tried to search for a help topic, it gave me an error, and if I check that error further in even viewer it's a 3005 - an unhandled exception has occurred (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.), in the Help application.

We have not enabled custom help at all.  I actually went back to a completely clean install snapshot and I have the same errors...

"Refresh from CRM: Button is Missing

I installed the add-in for Microsoft Dynamic 2013 for Excel and I as using the "Refresh from CRM" button for a while, but now it went missing after I used "Refresh All". Does anybody have any experience with this and how to resolve this problem?

I am using Excel 2013.

Associated views on Tablet

Hi All, 

We have a custom N:N relationship between accounts and opportunities and this is being displayed on the web in the related entities section and working fine.

On tablet however I can see the relationship in the related entities section but when I click from an opportunity to see the related Accounts it throws an error "This view is unavailable", when i try to access the related opportunities from an account it shows me "My Opportunities" view, the view selector displays all public views but not the associated view.

Any restrictions on associated views on Tablets? Is there a way to get this in a supported way?

CRM 2015 report issue

Hi,

I have a report in crm 2013 working fine. It is a sql based report developed in S 2012. And also it is a parameterized report which contains a parameter that prompts before running report.

We recently upgraded to CRM 2015 and the report no longer shows any data in it except the header and footer which are hardcoded.

I tried to execute the query in VS query desinger, it returns null record when I enter parameter. If I take off the parameter and run select * .. it gives me the records. What am I missing? It is the same exact report and nothing has been changed from 2013 to 2015. Please someone guide me.

CRM Attachments to Disk?

Hi there, 

My client would like to save CRM attachments to disk instead of the database and are not willing to use Sharepoint - using CRM 2013 On-Premise. I'm trying to understand how much effort it would take to create a plugin and save the attachments to disk or is that even a possible solution? I searched for the web and no one seems to have done this before. 

Any feedback is appreciated.

Email Templates Default View

I post it here may be someone will find it useful, 

I had a very strange ITHELP, when accessing email templates from Settings -> Templates - > Email Templates user could see only several Templates but, not all of them.

The roles were ok, other users with the same roles could see all the templates.

It looked like the user was getting a view that is not All E-mail Templates Default View but there was no option to change the view.

 

Solution was to access his CRM for Outlook Client   -> Settings -> Business -> Templates,

there I  could change the default view back to All E-mail Templates.

et voila!!

the view changed in web client as well

 

It would be nice if Microsoft would add the option to change the view on web client as well.

I am trying to create an email template to auto pull data from a custom entity, however the entity is not listed in "record type". So my question is how can I get my custom entity showing up in the drop down?

Question on moving from kits to bundles

I am working on a project that will possibly be integrating a product kit for our 2013 CRM on premise instance.

At years end, our organization  will be upgrading to CRM 2015.  I understand that the Product Kits are replaced with Bundles so I was wondering if Kits easily migrate to bundles or will I be required to rebuild any Kits that were done in 2013 as new bundles ?  

We are also looking at adding some  entity relationships to the product kit but was not sure the level of effort for migrating to 2015 bundles ?

Should we consider custom entities instead of implementing the product kit since we will be shortly going to 2015 or will it be rather easy to upgrade kits to bundles ?

Marketing List Errors When Associated to Email Send - ClickDimensions

We have clickdimensions installed in a 2015 CRM version. This environment previously used Exact Target for email marketing automation. We removed Exact Target before upgrading from 2011 -> 2013 -> 2015.

Whenever any user attempts to associate an email send to a marketing list, they get the following error:

The Relationship with Name = 'cdi_emailsend_list' was not found in the MetadataCache

 

The interesting part is that the relationship does exist. In the entity section of 'Customizations', an N:N relationship exists between the two entities and is present on both the 'Email Send' and 'Marketing List' screen. In the CRM database, we've also been able to find the relationship and the intersect table. All fields appear correct when we compare them to another entity having an N:N relationship with Marketing Lists.

 

From the traces of the error, we get more detail:

This would seem to indicate that CRM is looking for a one to many relationship rather than a N:N relationship. 

 

We've tried removing and reinstalling the solution. That didn't have an effect on the error. 

 

We've also spun up other CRM environments (2015 online and on-prem) and imported the Clickdimensions solutions into those environments. Those environments have no issue associating email sends to marketing lists. So, we've narrowed it down to an environment-specific issue. 

 

Does anyone have any recommendations for next steps or what might be causing this issue?
