Using CRM 2011 for the first time to export then re-import for update. In 4.0 this was a routine process, that worked flawlessly. Now there seems to be some issues. As we have also upgraded to Outlook 2010 and IE9, it’s hard to tell where the cause of the problem(s).
What I need to do is export about 10,000 records, update the email addresses and then re-import as an update.
In CRM 2011 (using the Outlook add-in) under Export to Excel, when I use the “Static Worksheet” option with the “Use this data for re-import” box checked, the data comes down as an XML Spreadsheet 3000 format. I save the file first (as XML 3000), then open it to try editing. At this point I run into a number of problems. If I highlight the entire worksheet to try to do sorting or editing, the Excel spinner starts going round and eventually returns (Excel not responding) and I have to crash Excel. I have tried this on a very small Export to see if the file size was the problem. But I get the same behavior regardless.
Has anyone else ran into this problem? Is there another, easier way to accomplish this?
