Hi all,
I've got an issue and I'm not sure why it isn't working.
I've created a custom leads to opportunity business process flow (BPF) for leads whereby qualifying them creates a new opportunity and sets the qualifying opportunity to that opportunity. I've got quite a few leads that don't have the existing BPF so I've managed to apply the business process flow to those leads no problem.
Some of those leads already have a qualifying opportunity of which I need to set to the new BPF for leads to opportunity also and currently they are set to the Opportunity process flow.
Normally if the opportunity has a originating lead then I should be able to switch the process on the opportunity or use a workflow to set new process for opportunity but for some reason it isn't working (https://www.loganconsulting.com/blog/switch-business-processes-between-leads-and-opportunities-in-dynamics-365-for-sales/#.WrBwNm1ubIU).
It looks like if I go to the originating lead and manually move the stage from qualify to the next stage then it allows me to pick the existing qualifying opportunity to link to and it works fine but when I try to run a workflow to change the stage it doesn't work (I use the set process action that's deprecated) but I also use the Dynamics 365 workflow tools to set the process or move the stage from the current to the next. Not sure what is going on as I'm a System Admin which means I should have access to all the BPF entities and should be able to select the leads to opportunity BPF at least on the opportunity with a originating lead record linked.
Kind regards,
Mike
