We have a team that is working on building reports. That team is planning on pulling data from CRM into a data mart to use strictly for CRM reporting using SSRS. Their concern for running reports in CRM is a performance hit. My concern with the data mart is the security/privileges that the data mart will not offer that CRM has for each user. I also have the concerns about the reports being built using tables and not the FilteredViews. I'm trying to push back on the data mart but I would like more documentation or direction from other more experienced users. We have discussed replicating the database but this idea didn't seem to go over so well either. Do I have a legitimate concern with this?
Any insight, opinions, articles or documentation would be greatly appreciated.
