Quote closing causes error - Cannot be saved... parent cannot be edited

I run frequently into this:

People want to close a Quote (let´s say as lost) and cannot close.

This error message comes up:

"

The product cannot be saved because the parent cannot be edited. If you contact support, please provide the technical details.

"

Anyone xp with that?
