We have an internal process for Opportunities, where someone other than the Sales Rep who Won the Opportunity might be the one closing the Opportunity. That person creates an Order, then closes the Opportunity on behalf of the Sales Rep. At times, they don't close it for weeks which can then cause issues with revenue goals and reporting.
Ideally I would like to change the process, have the Sales Rep close the Opportunity as Won, then the person responsible for creating the Order can do so at any time. The revenue is tracked, the Won Opportunity is closed by the right person, and everyone is happy.
Only problem is, I can't think of or see a way where an Order can be created from a Won Opportunity. Is it possible? I know an Opportunity can be re-opened, the Order could then be created, but when they reclose it they might not use the correct Actual Close date. Any suggestions?
