CRM - Send marketing materials to a lost lead?

Hi

In CRM you can create a marketing list and select the entity as Lead, but can you target a marketing a campaign at "lost" leads? if so how?

I created a test Marketing list, clicked "add members" used the advanced find to give me leads where status = lost and click "use query" but then if i go out and back in and look at list members, its empty. Why?

Is it even possible to target lost leads in a marketing campaign?
