Hi, at my company we have 3 salesmen, and we just recently found many duplicates of leads, from each of our salesmen, example; Jack, John, and Joe have added leads from CompanyXYZ, they each added different contact names for the same company. What i want to do is 1. erase all the duplicates of the same company, 2. assign only one salesman to that company, and 3. keep the contacts that each salesmen received for that company.
An example; Jack is the owner of CompanyXYZ - Contacts: Adam West, owner Jack. Samantha Rogers, owner John. Steve Cunningham, owner Joe.
What i did was add all leads as accounts and contacts, then in accounts, i assigned one owner, then i merged two at a time, until there was one left, then in contacts I rewrote each contact and assigned the owner for it as it was before.
Is there a simpler way and/or faster way? Thanks in advance.
