We are currently experiencing some issues with CRM where the actual end date is showing as a date\time value that is less than the date created. Along with this, the Last Activity Date on the Account and or Contacts are not being updated. Several screen shots to show here.

We do have workflows that populate the Last Activity Date field, and the first part of the work flow does show as completed, which is the updating of the Contact Last Activity Date, however as shown above, this is clearly not working. The second part appears to not fire at all. I did not create these workflows, but have been tasked to troubleshoot and resolve them. My experience with workflows is very little, so any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Now the kicker to all of this, is that MOST of the time, the workflows work correctly, updating the Last Activity Date on both the account and contact records just fine. I will spare you those screen shots 5 is enough!! lol However these also fail enough that our execs want to know why and have this resolved.
Again, if anyone has seen this type of behavior with CRM and has some input on what could be causing this to randomly fail, please post. Your info is greatly appreciated.
