CRM for Outlook with antivirus programs

We have installed CRM 2011 (UR 13) for Outlook on many of our workstations. After the install, Outlook performance is slow and often displays the message of trying to connect to Exchange server.

When CRM is uninstalled, Outlook works fine. After troubleshooting, we realized the AntiVirus program for Symantec Endpoint Protection (v 11.0.5002.33) could be the cause. When we disabled the program, Outlook with CRM worked fine and performance was back to normal.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on what to configure to make the Symantec and CRM for Outlook work together?
