CRM Online: Record is unavailable

Hi all, apologies if I'm posting this question in the wrong place. I'm a Dynamics complete newbie, so please be understanding. :)

I have a user of CRM online who is getting an error when he clicks on a new opportunity:

"Record Is Unavailable. The requested record was not found or you do not have sufficient permissions to view it."

This is what he did to get the error:

1. Created some customised forms based on the new opportunity form. 

2. After a while, realised that all his edits were saved as many forms, so he went in deleted all of them (his custom forms) to start again (he wasn't happy with the customisations).

3. When going into a new opportunity, it now generates the error.

Also, 

1. Interestingly, I don't get the error - it all looks fine to be.

2. Also, if he goes into the Settings --> Customizations --> Customize the System --> Components --> Entities --> Opportunity --> Forms, he can see the 4 default forms. (I think they're the default ones as I can see the same 4.) All 4 are viewable by everyone. 

3. I tried the same thing (create a customisation and then delete the custom form) but it didn't error for me.

4. If I make him a CEO, he still gets the error.

Any ideas how to fix the error please?
