Disabling fields inside a CRM Sub grid.

I have a business Requirement to permit end user to view rows inside a CRM subgrid.  But not permit them to drill down into the Field. I have disable the Span related to this Grid. I would like to know how I can either disable the row selection or disable the onchange event  so that the action will not trigger.
