Activities in Case Social Pane show the wrong user when reassigned.

We've has a problem for a while, where the activity modified date and person incorrectly. Everything is fine, until the case owner is reassigned. When this happens, all the historical activities relating to the case collect a new modified date (of when the case was reassigned) and modified by (the person that reassigned the case). I have seen some posts similar to this, but can't seam t find a resolution.

We  run quite a bust service desk and having potentially incorrect data on the case page is disruptive. We know that opening the associated activity views shows the correct information, but our staff do need to go digging for this. 

Is anyone aware of how this can be remedied? I would really appreciate any help we can get. 

We are using CRM 2015 Online, Rollup 1.
