CRM for Outlook Configuration Error

Hi all,

Please help! We are recently experienced some issues connecting our CRM for Outlook client (latest UR on Outlook 2010) to CRM 2013 (on prem latest UR).

Error logs shows the following:

  • Error occurred while refreshing registry cache, cache has been cleared. Exception: System.IO.IOException: No more data is available.
  • Exception during Signin System.ServiceModel.FaultException: The server was unable to process the request due to an internal error.

Symptom:

  • It only started happening recently and we only notice it on existing CRM users previously connected and had to re-connect (e.g. because of computer upgrade).
  • It's not an issue on new users (if we add a new user to CRM)
  • It's not an issue on most of the users, only some i.e. of 25 users we had to reconfigure CRM for Outlook, it affected 4. We have a total of about 120 users and we are afraid this number will rise if we have to upgrade the rest of the users.

Action taken so far which did not work

  • checked time
  • Cleared the credentials by going to the control panel -> credential manager. Under Windows credentials, and generic credentials, removed any entry that starts with Microsoft_CRM.
  • I tried the suggested solutions here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2538692 - regarding mapisvc.inf location
  • reset the password of the user

The other solutions which I have not done thoroughly are:

  • Site Map error: checked but nothing found - not sure if I am doing it right though. What's the most efficient way to do this e.g. via SQL script?
  • Built-in, Custom and Personal Views errors: checked but not sure if I am checking it right. Again, is there a script or steps I can do to check this thoroughly?

Thanks in advance!
