work with contacts in different business units

hello every body

we have 3 different business units in our company . some of the contacts are similar in different business units .

how I can keep same contact for different business units and find out who is working with them for example 

my contact is a developer or is a custom contact when he is in contacts . and the contacts and accounts for every business unit must enter seperat or can be similar?
