HTML formatting on a Mail Merge

Is there a way to paste an HTML image into Word without losing formatting?  I am asking this because we recently created an HTML piece for a marketing email.  We want to use CRM's mail merge feature to send it.  When we paste into Word it seems some of the formatting is lost.
