What's new error message

Hi

When I click on the What's New section, I get an error message stating that an error occurred and I need to contact their system administrator. I checked through some other blogs and was advised to change 'Filter' in entities in the security roles to Read. I have done this but still get the error message. However if I click on User Posts, Auto Post and Both I still can view post. Why am I still getting the error message?
