CRM 2011 + IFD + UAG with Outlook addin

Hi,

We are looking at publishing a CRM 2011 instance using UAG. This is supported, but there is a note in the article detailing the UAG publishing of CRM saying "Publishing Dynamics CRM 2011 via Forefront UAG does not support the Dynamics CRM client for Outlook.". I have not been able to find more information on this, so if anyone else knows more about this limitation, wether intentional or just not yet supported, please let me know.

Questions:

• Is this a architecture decision or a not yet developed feature?
• Why doesn't this work technically, does not the CRM for Outlook addin utilize the web service endpoints directly?
• Are there any workarounds available?
