When will DisableMapiCaching regedit no longer be necessary?

Hello,

Does anyone know when Microsoft will resolve the issue where results displayed per page in the grid view don’t display correctly, as well as the Server Only View? For example, in the grid view footer it’ll show for example "9,434 records", instead of "1-100 of 5001+ records". This caching issue prevents users from exporting to Excel from the context of the tabbed views because it only detects one pageof results, and will export up to the user's setting for results per page (e.g. they'll only export the first 100 records even though there are more). It’s resolved by doing the registry key DisableMapiCaching = 1.

This also resolves the "Server Only View" issue.  Anyone know if the caching issue was resolved in any server-side update rollups (e.g. UR10 or later)?

Here's the current resolution:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2600644

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Log on to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Outlook client computers as a user who has installed the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Outlook client.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSCRMClient
  4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  5. Type DisableMapiCaching, and then press ENTER.
  6. Right-click DisableMapiCaching, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  7. Right-click DisableMapiCaching, and then click Modify.
  8. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
  9. On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.

Thanks!
